Tides: The cyclic rise and fall of sea level caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and moon

Waves: The friction between the air molecules and the water molecules causes energy to be transferred from the wind to the water. This causes the most common waves.

How do we measure tides and/or waves? There is no one solution fits all and it depends on many factors including location, existing structures, security, depth, budget, etc.. There are therefore many ways to measure tide and waves and MSI is able to offer a variety of solutions through our carefully selected agencies being Buoy Based, Pressure Based and Radar Based.
